How to take tattoo deposits online in Canada
E-transfers work until they do not: wrong amounts, no calendar hold, no paper trail. Here is the setup Canadian artists use with Stripe Connect.
Why move off e-transfer
Interac e-transfers do not block your calendar, do not send aftercare, and make tax season painful. Clients forget reference photos. You chase $50 at midnight. A booking link that collects a CAD deposit, confirms the slot, and syncs Google Calendar fixes the whole loop.
Stripe Connect for Canadian artists
Studio Haven uses Stripe Connect so deposits land in your Stripe account in CAD. You complete identity verification once on production (live mode). Payouts follow Stripe's normal schedule to your Canadian bank account.
- Client pays deposit plus a small ~$2 platform fee at checkout
- You receive the full deposit minus Stripe processing
- GST/HST fields in your finance ledger for filing-ready exports
